I posted some pics, too. I used the "insert html" </> symbol, selected "Edit HTML", and then chose "Website Address".
As address I use my personal server space and place the pics there. Most ppl have some space available at their internet provider, at least in germany.
Just for test purposes: (You cannot zoom into the picture, it is just 300px wide)
Thanks for verifying that webadress links works, depends on site though, I think I tried it with flickr and it didn´t work at that time, will have to check again though.
As for zooming in, not possible, the image will be displayed as it is in size from the original site source if you use webadress link.
The iframeHtml editor wraps the frame boarder around it, and the rescaling ( which you can do with the scale icons in the iframe editor, can only be on the frame boarder, which pose not much of an issue on the height, but the width is limited to the actual comment fields size.
If you use embed code, that can however be adjusted to fit the size limits of these comment fields, the frame boarders in the iframe editor needs to be larger than the image ..if you want the image to be displayed without those boarders.
So this image by mdwhitney works, but with an original size at 1280 in width, that will give us inevitable a boarder, though I could check if I could go in and change the actual forum commenting width in these forums, without messing up the general look that is.
No it doesn´t, you just pasted a link, I looked at Deviant art and it´s sharing links, but it needs to provide an embed code, not just a link to social media, otherwise all you get is just the link as seen above.
Not sure if there is a way there to get an embed code from deviant art, have to check.
With flickr though you can get that.
a workaround is to take that link to the image (not the link to deviant art) so open the image from deviant art in a new tab..and copy that url and paste it in to this online embedd code generator, (Image Code Generator (html.am))
that way it will create the embed code for you, then just copy and paste that in to the IframeHtml editor, which means you still need to use that and not just paste it in to the comment field.
I think I may need to do a video recording of that process, and grabbing the embed code from flickr and use this iframe Html editor on this page as well.
Unfortunately right now that´s the way we have to go with image posting right now.
If you upload to Any other servic that can give you and embed code link instead, that would be best..such as flickr, then you do not need to use the online cod generator, just the iframeHTml editor on this page.
It should then look like this below, and right click and open in a new window to see it in full size, or change the size within the embed code to match the original size, in this case I could have choosen a bigger size in that online code generator, you have options there to set the size which I forgot.
